Our Vision
Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders.
The California Student Special Interest Group (CASSIG) is a student-developed and student-led suborganization of the CPTA. The CASSIG provides professional development opportunities for student physical therapists and student physical therapy assistants alike. The CASSIG promotes networking, academic enrichment, professional advocacy, and clinical skills development among other facets of professional development within the field of physical therapy. Most to all of the yearly CASSIG events are held virtually so as to enable all physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students in California to attend.
The CASSIG membership is inherent for current CPTA student members in good standing; there is no fee associated with a CASSIG membership. In conjunction with membership to the APTA, the CASSIG establishes a platform specifically for students. The CASSIG empowers students to take ownership of their student experience, providing tools for success along the way. With its overarching goal of advancing participation in the field of physical therapy, the CASSIG helps prepare its members for future leadership roles in the field of physical therapy.
