Speaker: Stacey Swan, PT, DPT, E-RYT 500

About our speaker: Stacey believes that yoga has the capacity to empower, transform, and support the physical, emotional, and mental layers of the human experience in a way that brings us deeper compassion and understanding of our world and ourselves. Her classes include varied combinations of: asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), chanting, meditation, and yoga philosophy. Stacey encourages her students to practice in a focused and safe manner with instruction that is clear, warm, and light hearted. She teaches group and private classes to students of all abilities and interests. With over 800 hours of training, and seventeen years of teaching experience she is able to challenge advanced students, as well as beginners. She holds a 200-hour certificate in Ashtanga/Vinyasa from O2 Yoga and a 500-hour certificate in Hatha/Viniyoga from the Healing Yoga Foundation. She studied under Chase Bossart, Jennifer Durand, and Kate Holcombe, all devoted students of TKV Desikachar and T. Krishnamacarya. She spent 150 hours studying both anatomy and the art of restorative yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater, and is now certified as an Advanced Relax and Renew® Teacher. Stacey has been a faculty member with three different 200 hour teacher training/advanced studies certificate programs in the Bay Area. In addition to her work as a yoga instructor, she recently completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy with honors from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, California.

About this webinar: In this two-part webinar, we hear from Dr.Alice Barnes, a residency trained, board certified sports clinical specialist. She is the founder of The Performance Shift, and contracted sports medicine provider for USTA, Okangan Hockey, and local high school/club programs. She attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate degree and University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus for her doctoral training. About our speaker: Jason Tonley graduated for the University of Southern California with his DPT in 2001, completed the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency in 2005, the Kaiser Permanente Movement Science Fellowship in 2006 and the Kaiser Permanente Spine Rehabilitation Fellowship in 2014. Currently, he works at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles where he serves as the program coordinator for the Orthopaedic Residency, Spine Rehabilitation Fellowship, Orthopaedic/Sports Fellowship and Persistent Pain Rehabilitation Fellowship. Currently, he serves as member of the ABPTRFE Accreditation Services Committee, on the research committee for the CPTA and is abstract reviewer for the Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Previously he has served as an Adjunct Faculty member for the Department of Physical Therapy at Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles, Chair of the AOPT Residency and Fellowship Education Committee and the ABPTRFE Program Services Council, and Finance Committee Member for the AOPT. He has a specialty certification in Orthopaedics and Manual Therapy. Dr. Tonley has presented several lectures at state conferences and Combined Section Meetings.

About our speaker: Dr.Jasmine earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree from Shenandoah University in 2021. During the same year, she completed an Early Intervention Certificate Course via Georgetown University. Jasmine has been working full time in pediatrics, primarily serving the birth-3 years of age population. She also has experience working for an in-patient rehabilitation hospital and skilled nursing facility with the adult and geriatric population. Jasmine currently works at an outpatient pediatric clinic on Maui. Jasmine is a dedicated eternal learner and she completed the Medical University of South Carolina’s “Lend Program,” which aims to improve access to healthcare and services for children and families disabilities.
